Operation In My Backyard
Every Tuesday at 6pm we set up at the corner of Ruth and Somerset in Kensington with hot food, safer use supplies and whatever else folks need that night. No names, no conditions, no judgment.
What we do
We hand out free naloxone, fentanyl test strips, safer injection supplies, safer smoking supplies and safer sex work supplies. We also bring a hot meal, and in winter we bring blankets and coats.
Harm reduction is about more than supplies. It means building relationships based on trust and consistency. Some of our participants have known us since 2018. They trust us because we keep showing up, and because we never post their faces.
